Day of the Dowd!

Fitzgerald's, 6615 Roosevelt Rd, Berwyn, IL

If you've heard my records, you already know Gerald Dowd is an amazing drummer. But you might not know that he's also a brilliantly talented singer and songwriter. His long awaited solo album, "Home Now," is coming out soon and to celebrate its release, he's asked a tiny percentage of the artists he's worked with to each play a 40 minute set (with him on the drums of course) and at the end of the evening, he'll step out from behind the kit and do a set of his own wonderful tunes. What's a "tiny percentage," you ask? Well, he's ONLY going to play drums for 16 bands before he does his own set. Yes, in case you didn't look at the show time, it's an all-day event! That's 16 bands, 13 hours, 1 drummer.

All ticket proceeds benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository (www.gcfd.org). Silent auction featuring items from the Chicago Cubs, Macy's, and others. Kids welcome all day with parent. Re-entry permitted with hand stamp or wristband (whichever they use), so you can pop out to grab some lunch or dinner (and apparently it's cool if you bring food in).

I'd be telling you to come even if I weren't playing, but luckily for you, I am! It's early, so don't be late. In addition to Mr. Dowd, I'll be joined for my set by two more crazily talented musicians - Scott Stevenson on keys and John Abbey on bass.
